Colts owner Jim Irsay hinted Tuesday that embattled Commanders owner Daniel Snyder could be removed, telling reporters he thinks the nece sary 24 votes to force a change. "I believe there is merit to removing him as owner," Irsay said, adding, "You have to protect the game, you have to protect what we're about. In a statement, a Commanders spokesperson called Irsay's comments "highly inappropriate" and declared again that the Snyder family will not sell the team. In July 2021, the franchise was fined $10 million by the NFL after an investigation into allegations of sexual hara sment and abuse in the workplace. Though Snyder agreed to temporarily step away from day-to-day operations, he was not directly punished by the league. More recently, the House Oversight Committee has begun investigating Snyder for a hostile work environment and financial violations. After the committee accused Snyder of ducking a subpoena, the Commanders owner testified under oath on July 28. The committee's investigation remains ongoing.
